In the first part of Thursday's lesson, the students used dissection microscopes to examine bees as they learned about their anatomy and biology.

Thanks to AMD and Advanced HPC for our new cluster node

AMD has donated 4 12-core CPUs for a machine that was built by Advanced HPC that has been added to our cluster nodes. This 1U machine has singlehandedly doubled the number of processor cores available for our lab to do research.

We have done some benchmarking on these new processors comparing them to the Intel Xeon 6-cores that make up the rest of our computing power. Stay tuned for these results.
